Goodbyes Poem by Michael Peterson

Goodbyes

Words we don't like to say
A situation where it garnish them
Some happy, many sad, few the final ones
Words and tears just hurt the mood
Either a simple or a long time
Hugs, kisses, handshakes, trades of numbers
Will you ever see them again, soon or later?
Time tells us when and where, sad or happy times
Airports, bus stations, by the car, at funeral
No matter where you are, those words are hard to say
Soldiers off to war, kids to college, to a new life
You never know what lies around the corner
Just to say those words just makes you miss them more
Wait to say hello and welcome back
But for now I leave you with these final words
Goodbye, see you real soon, love you
