Goodbye, Dreams, Goodbye Poem by Sandra Feldman

Goodbye, Dreams, Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

Dreams, go back to your ancestral home,
I know, I know, I'm now alone,
And I have no right to ask you to stay,
Not for a minute, not for a day.

Although, I remember how celluloid films,
Made me Dream of the future,
How far that all seems,
A career in film, was always in my dreams!
Acting, reciting, thundering lines,
And then pretending the love story in the film,
Was as romantic as 'Gone With the Will'
All of that gave my life, a tremendous big thrill!

Dreams, remember how close we once were?
Now the party's over,
No more dreams to share,
No more mountains to climb,
All I've got left,
Is one verse and one rhyme.
