We stand in silence
Why do you stay?
Maybe it’s time
You walk away
We never talk
We don’t even say “Hi.”
Maybe it’s time
To say “Goodbye.”
As hard as it is for me to say
We’ll never be “friends”
We both know it’s true
It’s time to say “the end.”
Time to start a new chapter
And to get on with life
Hoping and praying
There’s no more strife
You said we’d be friends
Now I see what it really was
Just a ploy
Just because
So now we’re to the part
We both dread
Saying goodbye my old love
As I lay down my head
I close my eyes
And drift off to sleep
Squeezing my eyes tight
So they won’t leak
