Good News Poem by Phyllis Strong

Good News

You hear people say;
“Their mom is all they had.”
What about the kids,
That all they know is dad.

You hear on the news,
Of those who rob and kill.
What about the people
Who work hard, for the dollar bill.

Let’s hear some good news.
It’s some out there.
What about the working people,
Who are not on welfare.

You hear on the news,
About the man who beat his wife.
What about the man who’s loving and caring;
Has a healthy family life.

You hear on the news,
About the big drug bust.
What about all of the people,
That being drug free is a must.

You hear about the man,
That killed his whole family.
What about the man that work two jobs;
So his kids can have a college degree.

You hear about the men,
That doesn’t support their kids;
What about all of the good men,
That did.
