Good Luck Poem by Ellen Ni Bheachain

Good Luck

Good partings and bad endings,
T'was not meant to be,
Small tokens and good tidings,
Taken and no mentions given,
Good luck and good fortunes,
Only words can say,
Bad endings and sad partings,
Come what may,

So,
Farewell,
And goodbye,
To those that did try,
And in today's times of care,
Is not something one can share,
For what has been done,
That cannot be undone,
Are the partings of farewell,
From the ones gone before we remember,

Yet, don't blame the one,
Who gave them the slip and said nothing,
Perhaps they too,
Have been there before,
So, to see it come at you,
And give them the slip,
And fond memories that were shared,
Where happiness once was,

What sad partings sometimes bring,
No real goodbyes,
Just there then gone,
For others will more resilience,
Stronger to stay and fight,
But left in financial straits,
Of what was left in disarray,
The good and strong that carry on,
Picking up who left in haste,
Of those that fouled it up in many ways,
Then laughing and sneering,
Went on their way,

Good luck who did see,
And said it good,
Yet, knows it still goes on,
Perhaps,
For the ones who gave them the slip,
Perhaps,
For the ones who laugh and sneer,
At the mess, the rest were left to sort out,
Good luck to them all,

The strong and resilient will carry on,
Giving the lucky ones, safe passage,
To begin again,
And when they get there?
They will remember,
Like me,
The ones who stood up for us,
Those strong and resilient people,
Of this earth,

For all that know,
The Victims report,
Is to know what state,
They were left in,
To the ones who gave them the slip,
Or the laughing that sneered,
That let it go on,
Let it be,

As we all know,
Life must go on,
So, what we lost back then
Yet, felt lucky to get out,
When the game of gaming people,
Was what was going on,

If not for the strong and resilient,
That came in and released,
Aiding the lucky ones that got out.
Including me,
Good luck to them and all the rest,
Big thanks though,
To the strong and resilient.
