Good And Bad Days Poem by Francis Duggan

Good And Bad Days

Rating: 5.0

Most of us know of the good times as well as the bad
For to fully appreciate happiness you must know how it feels like to be sad
It is hard to feel happy if you are financially down
And one of the poor of the poor side of the town
Though you too do hear stories of the unhappy millionaire
With darkness of mind and burdened by life's care
Though it is better to be unhappy and wealthy than being unhappy and poor any day
That money cannot buy you happiness only true to say
Those of the cheerful disposition are lucky indeed
As it does serve them well in their times of need
Their times of unhappiness for long spells with them do not remain
To a happier frame of mind they quickly bounce back again
Some may tell you from life we only receive our due
But that we all have good and bad days happens for to be true.

A soliloquy of the unhappy... very well said in poetic form. Those who belong to the richer side of town always have an uplifting quote about the poor, just because they think being poor is a state of mind. Advice is easier said when you have food on your table. But to all readers, let me just share something I read awhile back: Happiness is not about getting all we want, It is about enjoying all we have now.
