Gone With Time Poem by Sandra Feldman

Gone With Time

Oh,
How I would have loved
To have starred in plays
And lead one hundred lives,
Spending my time,
Upon the stage
Or on a cinema plateau,
Just not to be always
All the same,
Submerged
In gray routine.
I wanted the thrill
The adventure of being
Someone else,
Widening my feelings
Giving life more sense,
And making the audience
Palpitate, live
In other worlds
Beyond
Just plain Nonsense
And finger twirls.

One hundred thrilling lives
To live
Then shed them, one by one
But not always, do we get
Our childhood dreams and fun
And poetry has been
A longtime friend to me.
So now lets close the curtain
On past, gone fantasies
I'm off to see, "Gone With The Wind"
Still feeling and regretting
The stage was not for me.

A beautiful, wistful poem evoking feelings and memories long buried. I’m sure you would have made a great actress, Sandra. Small suggestion: I think you mean ‘starred’ with two ‘r’s’ Nice fresh topic!
