Gone With The Future Poem by Ekemini Rogers

Gone With The Future

Rating: 5.0

Everyday, I rise above my fears,
Looking down on my past fading like the sunset,
With everything I never had as a child.
The future opens her arms ready to embrace me,
But I cannot stop looking down at the past,
With tears in his eyes, feeling all guilty having
Denied me of my possessions.
Deep inside of him, he wants me back,
But I have chosen the future.
With her, I will never go down a dark path alone,
Till then, I keep my fingers crossed.
