Golden Images Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Golden Images

Unforgettable Angel
My aspired dream I shall never possess
A dream once coveted, also treasured
In a time when love has been always at its best

There she sleeps within a secret fortress
Where no other has reached so deep within my chest
Now left in a thoughtless silence
Where all passing's must go when come to rest

It is her golden hair that breaks the darkness
A love of giving without regret
Her softness like a gentle melody
Replayed in slumber thoughts, my heart has left

Our moments linger in a daydream
Just before the darkness calls
When once again, it becomes time to remember
Why the teardrops had to fall

She will always be forgotten;
In the light of a new love's eyes
As my lover fades away the nightmares
It is my misplacement I cannot hide

In her smile my lover tells me
Soon days of you will finally end
Because for some reason she is more than just my lover
She is also my dearest friend
