I actually wrote this with a friend in mind, who is looking forward to going home, when another teaching term is over. It would be nice if New Zealand was in reality, waiting to welcome me back in green arms; but alas NZ cares nothing for poets or poetry :) I shall slip into the country unnoticed :) And in farewell to Indonesian, from the outskirts of Jakarta, it was possible to live on savings and write and post over 4000 poems from here, most conceived here; in NZ I fear it will be impossible to write anything significant. Perhaps it will be necessary to leave NZ again after a few years, to write somewhere where poetry has a meaningful place in the lives of a few literary people :)
