God's Master Plan Poem by Willem VanVoorthuysen

Lord of the universe, You let us probe
the fearsome voids of outer space,
the hellish fires that in volcanoes rage,
the cold, dark secrets of the deepest seas,
the awesome power that spurs the birth of light.
O Lord, my God, how great Thou art!

Your loving guidance helps us recognize
the miracles that fill our hearts with joy:
the fragrant beauty of a flower,
the nightingale's sweet song,
the unborn baby's gentle moves,
this tender and most sacred mystery of life...

Dear God, why have You have left
one craving unfulfilled, one gift withheld
for which our hearts so deeply yearn:
to know the blessed hour of Christ's return?

Though in your endless love and mercy, Lord,
You gave each one of us a flame of faith to kindle,
to light our way until the day You shall divulge
and activate Your flawless Master Plan,
exactly as You promised us in Scripture...

According to those Holy Words,
our eyes, no longer blind, shalll see,
our minds, unshackled, comprehend,
our souls reflect Your beauty, Lord,
in all its glorious dimensions!
