God First, Myself Second

Today is the first day of the rest of my life
I must be strong and do what I know is right
Keep my eyes upon God for I am forever in his Sight
Never let him down should be my mission in life

Putting God first and myself second
will be a great start on my new life's mission
for what will follow will be according to him
and with his plan... I will always win

The trials in life... I may stumble upon
will test my faith and strengthen my love
My sins from him I cannot hide
a constant reminder to keep me in line

When I stray... I will not be afraid
for his forgiveness I'm assured
It's in the Bible... It is his Word

The evil that dwells over all our lives
can only be fought with him by our side
I will start each day in prayer with my savior
asking for forgiveness and showing him favor
