God Blesses Us Each Day Anew....

Our intelligent Lock Down
as our premier called it himself,
has deposited all restaurant owners who do not have 'takeaways',

they got money back from the government,
but as I heard:
not enough,
hairdressers and all small traders have almost gone bankrupt

not the supermarkets,
just like the markets in our city: no loss, they can stay open, just remember that 1.5 m distance and the plexiglass between cashier and customer,

this is not a problem, but difficult arithmetic to me,

I only know the owners of plexiglass factories: they are the new millionaires,
every cash register in supermarkets needs a large plexiglass if customers want to pay,

I prefer to use the scanner,
is a great happiness,
although there are so few scanners,
I don't have to wait here,
many customers don't know how to use,

despite not diminishing,

the vegetables and agricultural products are excellent and constantly fresh,

every day,
week after week
almost two months after March 12th,

indeed, intelligent Lock Down,

we don't have to go hungry,

Besides
what they don't say,
since I arrived in the Netherlands,
there are already hundreds of dead,
every winter again every year because of the flu we have every year,

every fall we have to be vaccinated,
against the usual winter flu,
I wonder that alone,
in this country?
all citizens from 50 years of age,
no one will die, only the weakest old people,

that is now also the case,

only with the biggest difference:
the corona virus is most aggressive,
more dead patients now than before,
the dutch virus is only 0.02% aggressive,
the coronavirus is 0.20% aggressive,

more people have become defensive,

next Monday 11 May,
a day after Mother's Day,
the hairdressing salons can receive their customers again,

most intelligent is this Dutch Lock Down I must say,

our hair is saved in time

the homeless get their meals and at any coldest temperature they can sleep in the house especially for them

Yes! the Dutch government
social awareness is enormous,

these come from our tax payment,
I'm not complaining about this ailment,
the highest taxes on earth,
for this smallest country,

years ago it was 70% from our income, today
if I may say: lesser but still high,
bit high,
but I can tell you
after rains we stay constantly dry,

never forget:
the highest income, gets the highest taxes,
if you have one euro, you pay the tax 70 eurocent, remains 30 eurocent for living eating and enjoying life,
my beloved spouse never complains, me either,
always in gratitude,
you can see our attitude,
since the Lord blesses us with love, life and food,
we are always in gratitude,

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Kumarmani Mahakul 10 May 2020

Each new day is definitely new gift given by God to us. Each new day motivates us and we live with new hopes. The homeless get their meals and at any coldest temperature they can sleep in the house especially for them. God's grace falls on us and each of us. We should feel the importance of agriculture. This poem is excellently penned basing upon perception. Corona Virus will go away one day....10

Cont.. Liked how this poem was crafted. So honest and spontaneous flow of thoughts and entertaining as well. Very encompassing as it covers how the government and its people responded to this great pandemic. A story of life unveiled by a great pen tinge with powerful spiritual words that only the great Poetess can deliver and weave into a beautiful poem. A joy to read...Loved reading it.

What a wonderful poem! You could feel what life is all about especially in these dark times as vividly portrayed in this marvelous poem. The great Poetess' keen and brilliant observation on a day to day life is brilliantly conveyed and it resonates with me. Life with this pandemic drastically change our lives.

Thank you so much that you enjoyed this poem, dear Mrs. Juan Austin. I am happy to see you here again after such long pause, since my poem-door was closed according to the pandemic customs, I am just making a joke, my dearest poet friend. God Bless You always!
