Go Ahead And Run (1989) Poem by Jodie Phillips

Go Ahead And Run (1989)

Rating: 5.0

When times get rough
He says be tough -
Don't cry, control yourself,
Put hate upon the shelf.

If this is so, why can daddy run?
If there's a battle he hasn't won,
Why can daddy run?

we had a problem at home, you see,
And it all really got to me.
It turned my life inside out
I was going crazy without a doubt.
Being the mature daughter I was
I was expected to handle my 'couz'
Talk things out, set them straight
If it didn't work out, just had to wait.
(It'll all work out)
But if this is so, why can Daddy run?
What's the matter, things aren't fun?
Go ahead, then - RUN!
(I can work it out.)
