Gloomy Day Poem by Ronald Chapman

Gloomy Day

My day begins darkly and dreary.
Gloomy days with falling rain can be,
so painful to my heart.
I want to go back to my dreams,
on gloomy days like today.

But wait!

The sound of rain,
striking on my window pane.
calls to me to open my eyes.
and to rise up and fly to,
the window frame.

With eyes wide open.
I see a river of rain,
in the streets.
My ears than hear, " quack quack..."
My eyes see a raft of ducks,
floating down the street.

How can this be?
My gloomy day has turned into,
an upbeat day by,
watching some quacking ducks,
playing in the rain.

Yay!
This is a happy day.
