Glittering Jewels And Pearls Poem by Paula Glynn

Glittering Jewels And Pearls

Pearls and jewels glitter in the moonlight,
Glinting on milky white skin,
Contrasting with Indian jewels that decorate,
Coffee and deep chocolate skin,
For pearls and jewels glitter in the starlight,
Highlighting beautiful faces,
That live life to the full,
With rich, rewarding lifestyles, where they go horseriding,
And attend candlelit dinners,
And on summer nights, ballroom parties,
For the stars shine down upon them,
Just as they shine like the beautiful men and women,
Looking as distinguished and colourful as any Indian summer,
For blue eyes shimmer in the nightlights,
Decorated with peacock colours,
And brown eyes strike deep against ruby rings,
And the music plays on at this ballroom party,
Sometimes classical, sometimes a touch of pop and jazz,
And few sit down, the music merry,
Champagne flowing as quickly as water from a fountain,
For this is the night to celebrate life,
And though tonight will be a memory tomorrow,
Pearls and jewels of red, turquoise, pinks and purples,
Adorn fingers and throats, colours glittering,
With all the beauty of a rainbow,
Where a pot of gold waits for those pure of heart,
To look back in awe at the paintings by the masters of art,
Capturing the magical blend of colours,
That glisten, inspire and shine,
In the wonderful moonlight of an Indian summer so divine.
