Glass Half Full Poem by Emely Marie

Glass Half Full

I admire other poets;
the way their words reflect how they feel
Stories of pain, hurt and neglect
scripted words on paper help them to heal

And when I read about flowers,
the moon and ice cream
While others take it literal and show a smile
I look up and hear their internal scream

From one poet to another
I understand your emotional raids
Because I know flowers die,
ice cream melts and the moon's glow fades

Although some are oblivious tot he pain of others
I admire those who choose optimism to embrace
Because they know new flowers can grow,
melted ice cream is a milkshake and the sun will shine in the moon's place

And when the new flowers grow
oh they will smell divine,
that milkshake will taste great
and oh how the sun will shine

So walk through a field of flowers,
take a deep breath and enjoy the smell
Drink your ice cream and take in the sun's light
Because I know eventually, all will be well
