Girls are helpless?

We cry
and try
then cry
and never try

is it our story
we read
to gap the difference
though we are
helpless
and do not know
why?

do you think
in our country
we are worshipped
just after god
though we get pains
from evil sources

and i ask
do you know
why this happens.

An excellent poem. As a fellow human being I can understand the pain and the anguish that grills us from within. If you find time read my latest posting entitled 'An Introspection' and post your comments. (Report) Reply

You may have heard about Amrita. In my state she beat the shit out of some thughs tried to mess with her.Keep in mind woman are not powerless.Infact if you google you will be surprised to find a bunch of superpowerful woman. But I know what you are getting. You must have had an incident right. But things will only get better for sure.So dont worry (Report) Reply

Nice poem dear. Yes we should respect the girls and women and to keep this fact in our mind that if we are today alive in this world is just becoz of women. Nice written, touches the heart. Keep it up (Report) Reply

A sound question and relevant thought. Our land is not called fatherland as Europeans do but Motherland This is because of our social views.Theirs is Patriarchal while ours is Matriarchal.Because of cultural imperialism we too shifted to the Western style. When concept changes it changes totally or clash of ideas will happen. We want to be trendy making Bollywood in to Hollywood. But in sex we make reservations that cause straned relations and cause social issues. For instance, we approve homosexuality, cohabitation of opposite sex, but impose Immoral Traffic Act and make arrests at lodges. We are against Eve-teasing or public kissing but in Europe they are never mind matters of individual choice. In words we are against extra -marital/pre-marital sex; but long for it.This creates stress. Both the rulers and the ruled, so, go astray morally. We cannot be in two cultures at the same time. This contradiction is the problem we face in India. You lines are frank, open. Go on writing. (Report) Reply

    Hi Survi
I read all your poems, sorry I don't like to comment on poem because I think they are all precious.
This poem is so sad but so true. Men are made angels but they are capable of being animals.
Keep on writing because you can cry for those helpless voiceless victims with your passionate plea. I will too by advocating love.
    Keep in touch.
    Peace, (Report) Reply
