Girl, Why Do You Hate Parades? Poem by Casey Renee Kiser / snail viXen

Girl, Why Do You Hate Parades?

Rain is a lullaby
and thunder is a group hug.
Dreams are dirt,
sweep them under the rug.
And they say, girl,
why do you hate parades?

Dark is an adjective,
not necessarily a color.
A house is shelter,
not necessarily a cover.
And they say, girl,
why do you hate parades?

Smiles are a funny thing
and laughter is hilarious.
I smile sometimes
when I am delirious.
And they say, girl,
why do you hate parades?

And I say, girl,
I was just never good at charades.
