Girl, Rainbow Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

Girl, Rainbow

Rating: 5.0

Let me whisper my recurring fantasy
as you take me by the hand.
I can tell you what my heart craves most
Because you alone can understand.
We sat on a balcony
just you, my love and me
and spoke till stars wept:
free and moved by my impossible dream.
And walking down quiet streets
and talking the evenings dry
and that unspoken bond that creeps
when I remind you of times gone by
and you agree
he's the other half of me
and you agree
because you can really see.

Girl, rainbow, confidante
keeper of my secret.
Smile and tell me one day
one day maybe he'll see it.
