Ghost Poem by Michael Patrick Hunt

Ghost

Stygian shadows wander through the woods
Phantoms bereaved in the early dawn
A myriad of lost words
Calling to the wind

Waning embers whisper in lambency
Drowned by the morning's mist
Sparks rising from the ash
Soaring to new heights

To a place they'll call home

Beautiful poem with eerie lambert imagery. Your writing is so pretty and your word choice is spot on. I had to go to the dictionary for lamb envy and Stygian. Your selection of these words really fits with the message and flow of the poem illustrating the newly dead and the eventual ascent of their souls. Thanks for sharing! I'm glad to see you posting a new poem.
