Getting Ready To Fly Poem by Carol Fleming Klein

Getting Ready To Fly

Time to Fly

I have have been a fearful caterpillar,
full of lowly trepidations.

But it is time to climb past that; time to die to my limited vision and fears, and to surrender to the process...the becoming which may be long and dark, and shut-in with the Creator.

Time to embrace the 'out on the limb' experience,
Of getting ready to fly.

Did I fail to mention my fears
Of heights
Of falls and failure
Of change and new things?

BUT
This is what I was born to do...
To crawl out on a limb
To 'die a thousand deaths'
As I get ready to FLY
To soar to the heights
And see more than ever before!
