I am a Pacifist
Someone who believes
That world will thrive better
Once folk stop bickering
Over who is in Control
And get on with it.

And to my consternation
I've also discovered

I am a warrior
Someone who knows
The world thrives better
When the bullies, the abusers
Are not allowed to take Control
And so I get on with it.

And so today I celebrate Peace
In an understanding
That while it sometimes seems
An overwhelming
Contradiction
I owe this opportunity
To those who
Fought
For Peace
So we All
Could
Get on with it
