Generic World Poem by Ryan Frenrey

Generic World

Today and here is where I sit and lye
Watching the clock as time ticks by
All this time I was nothing but a lie
I’m nothing special to the looks of an opposing eye
All I am is someone sincere
Living in darkness of eyes lurking in fear
Everyone looks down to see where I stand
Someone who has no name, no label, no brand
A cast away to let lose fired with a canon
Someone who I thought people took for granted
Nothing is what I have, nothing is what I won
Beauty passes by with a deception ready to be done
All I want is something that is for real
An everlasting sense of something I can taste and can feel
But in this world the trick is not to be revealed
As I lie wasting away in a globe becoming sealed
Trust and perseverance lead to nothing but untrue
Words are only words, but actions are what we do
And I was shown that compassion is a momentary excursion
Living in a secondary world, the generic version
No one is real and all is the same
Persistence is my way, my thirst is to blame
Lying here waiting for someone to be real
Waiting for the answers to tricks unrevealed
