Gauging The Truth Poem by NAYYAR SHABBIR AHMAD

Gauging The Truth

She was incredibly sweet
And incredibly beautiful
Or was she?

Her husband insisted, he knew different
And as a consequence constantly looked elsewhere

Not knowing how to cope, she flew into a jealous rage
Whenever she saw my husband, amongst other men
Love their wives regardless of what they looked like

It was only then that I really gauged
The true limit of the sweet and beautiful portrait she displayed
