From Ramon X Poem by Morgan Michaels

From Ramon X

Ramon and Sr. Perez visited the loo behind the inn. Then they rejoined the fat man, in front. All three stood in the shade of a giant carob tree and Sr. Perez smoked while the horses were readied. In their eagerness to be off, these shook their heads impatiently and neighed, causing their iron harness rings to jingle brightly. All watched as two youngsters enacted a coreo in the plaza. One shook a scarlet pillow slip in the face of a second, who stomped the dust underfoot and charged, fists at his ears, fingers pointed ahead like horns, features hideously contorted. The would-be matador jumped nimbly aside and whirled as his nemesis charged the shaken cloth and behind it, empty air. Again and again the sheet flew up and fell as the wild youth charged back and forth, laughing and growling fiercely. Sr. Perez watched them play with the keenest interest, tearing his gaze away only at the sound of the boarding bell. Suddenly Ramon felt dizzy- a symptom he blamed on the heat. He rested against the tree waiting for the fit to pass, which it soon did. Since no other passengers appeared, their number remained the same and one by one they boarded.

Morgan, for something other than empty air behind a cloth being charged check the 2015 Australian movie, The Dressmaker. It will appeal to your sense of humour.

Thanks for the head's up. I'll check it out. Australian movies are the best- starting with Gallipoli, back when. MM
