From Far Away Poem by shakil ahmed

From Far Away

From Far Away

In this terrible moon-lit night
I was walking alone
Near the bank of the river
I heard the murmuring tune
Of retreating waves
Breaking the ominous silence
Gentle breeze was carrying
The message of your
Love-torn heart
Decaying leaves of trees
Are falling
Beneath my tired feet
I smelled your fragrance
From far away
In the lonely village road
My sojourn and lonely life
Filled with joy
In a rhythmic exuberance
I touched your virgin lips
With tip of finger
In a dream-like illusion
I held you in my arms, and
Felt the warmth of your body
With my heart and soul.
I implore you from my heart
You will come in vision
When I an sad and alone.
