Friendship Is The Balm Of Old Age Poem by Shalom Freedman

Friendship Is The Balm Of Old Age

Friendship is the balm of old age
Talking remembering enjoying laughing with others
Helps us feel
We are still somehow real and alive
As we lose friends
We need friends more
And as we are more alone
We need to be more with others

Friendship in old age
Helps keep us alive
Be a friend have a friend
Survive
As long as you can.

I agree with what you've written here and like to add that a person really has to be friends with themselves as well otherwise they can't be a real friend with anyone else.
