Friendship Poem by kai en.

Friendship

Friendship is a bond,
Between friends,
Rumoured to last,
For eternity

Tis said,
Friends would lend,
You a helping hand,
When you need.

A question,
Will naturally,
Inevitably
Spring to mind.

A seed of doubt,
And suspicion,
Will always cause
misunderstandings to arise.

Are they real friends,
Those who would treasure,
Every single soul,
That they consider friends?

Will the loss of one,
Cause one to be bitter and sad,
Or just dismiss it,
With no regard?

Will it gain
tears or sarcasm,
hurt or pain,
or simply hatred

Will gaining new ones,
cause one to forget,
or devalue older ones,
and leave them all alone.

Following,
human nature,
to lust for,
new over old,
favour something more,
yet not see the beauty,
of the old ones,
that always existed.

Yet,
A picture,
A song,
Brilliantly depicted,
Yet delicate,
Like a spider’s thread.
It is supposed to be.

An exquisite dainty,
Yet sturdy and steadfast,
Able to withstand
The trails of time.

A journey,
Of a thousand miles,
On a shattered ground,
Full of endeavours,
battles and exertion.

A song that never fades,
A rainbow that never breaks,
One that neither,
Hide nor sigh.
A shoulder to cry upon,
A support
to help me walk,
And without them,
The emptiness seems to increase.

Tis both happy,
Yet sorrowful,
Bitter and sweet,
Painful yet hopeful.

The greatest gift of all,
Given by fellow humans,
Yet ironically,
Few really treasure it.
