'Friends' Poem by James Rogers

'Friends'

I see you laying there in my bed
The fact we're just friends makes me wish I was dead
Telling me I'm like a brother
What a great way to make me suffer
Were so close and yet so far
The thought of this drives me to the bar
After 6 drinks and a whiskey chaser
I drive to meet you like a boy racer
Since I find the whole story terribly dull
I give up on life and let the car roll
I see you laying there in my bed
The fact that were friends has made me dead
