Friends Poem by shreya koppaka

Friends

Rating: 4.7

The day we met each other,
I never thought our relation would grow further,
Because though we walked on the same path,
We were never walking together.

We grew up in the same way,
Saw each other everyday,
Though there was always a smile,
We never had anything to say.

We fought, we laughed, we angered, we cried,
Sometimes foe silly reasons to each other we lied,
Little things mattered, little things hurt,
And in silly little things we took pride.

Eventually different roads we took,
And I never thought ever back I would look,
Some stayed together and others went far,
Dreaming to spread our fame in every corner and nook.

But out paths again crossed,
When we remembered the memories of the past,
Those cherished moments those memorable times,
The warmth and the joy we wished would never be lost.

Again we all needed to move on,
As we had dreams and goals to concentrate upon,
We had to meet our destinies,
So all of us continued on our roads alone.

But only after we went far,
And our paths moved apart,
That I realized in my heart,
How special those memories are.
Now hoping that our paths would meet again,
I make this journey with a lot of pain,
That down this road those I shall meet,
Whom “my friends” I can claim..

I can very much relate to what you've writen including the want for crossing paths again. I'm delighted to know that others feel this way about others they cared for.
