Freedom In Chains Poem by Vinti Jetley

Freedom In Chains

I have found my freedom in these chains.
Though shackles lie heavy on my limbs,
My gaze has to filter through bars,
My mind can hike on the floating clouds,
And reach the meadows afar.

My songs have found the voice of hope,
I spell my words with zeal,
I sway on the rhythm of unknown notes,
My faith has been cast in steel.

I don't know when I would see that sun,
Which pours its gold each dawn.
When would I sway on the valiant waves,
And sail to the shores unknown.

I have pushed these walls to the edge of the world,
To see that wonderland,
Where rainbows rise on a dull grey day,
And sand doesn't slip from hands.

I can feel the shiver of winter breeze,
My soul gets drenched when it rains.
I have found my freedom in these chains.
