Freedom Poem by matthew broxton

Freedom

Scream, shout
grab a banner and demonstrate,
start a movement,
front a parade.

See an injustice,
witness a tragedy,
give sympathy as she cries.

Are we free?
no, we're chickens running
in a large coup.

CCTV, internet patrols
we get a pound,
they take twenty,
the rich get richer,
while the poor queue
at the job centre.

Democratic love, social freedoms,
smokers turfed out on the streets,
just because of the rest.
No referendum, no mass vote
those of a free mind and spirit
ask for more
the political grifters,
swindle us again.

Operant conditioning is rife,
we're used to it.

So stand and fight,
we're listening ears,
and respond without fear
rebellion and revolution,
are true to scale,
if love is there,
we can't fail.

Long live the revolution. It seems more than necessary from my point of view. Great poem!
