Freedom Poem by Marilyn Lott

Freedom

Rating: 5.0

Great men have written about it for years
Folks have fought as hard as they can
To strive toward the nation's cause
Of freedom across the land

Presidents throughout our history
Have stated very plain that we
Must stand up for our beliefs
In order to maintain a free country

Our faith in God is such a big part
Of what makes our country united
Our ‘Pledge of Allegiance' stands apart
With hand on heart as it is recited

I'm so proud to be an American
I'm sure you feel the same as me
We must all do our part as well
To keep our country free!

I like this one very much, Marilyn... if you take away the American aspect of it I would believe that it applies to all free patriotic citizens of the world.
