Down the memory lane
walk the yester years of life,
out of parents are born sons and daughters
who live together and grow;
and as they cling to their bonding
not letting their love to dis-integrate;
silently creep up the moments of reality
as one by one decides to marry and go
thus dissolving the connection
while dreams strengthen intentions
and weaken the threads of attachment.
And just as old walls collapse slowly
so does unity, as each one clinches
to their own forums of aspirations;
and though the time-clock moves on
each one knows what the other has missed
when life’s journey has ended;
and as across the clouds, travels the soul to rest,
memories never vanish from the mind;
and though life moves on, like a big tidal wave
ushering memories, absence challenges the heart
never to forget the ones we once loved and lost.
