Forgetting About You Poem by Anne Reynolds

Forgetting About You

One a day use to be all it took
To forget the way you made me look.

How you made me feel like such a fool
You thought you was so sly and cool.

Then two a day would do the trick
To lighten my heart that turned to brick.

Going through that ol same ol same
Trying not to feel this old routine.

Then three a day came and I never felt a thing
As cold as you, never a thought of melting.

Do what you gotta do because I don't care anymore!
I got all I need right here at home called number four!

Then five was like one and six became two
That's all I need to forget about you.

Was that ten that slipped right through my hand?
How much does it take to forget about this man?

I said let him go because I don't feel a thing!
Go do what you do, but don't take off that ring!

Remember I told you I don't care what it is that you do,
Just don't forget I am the one who is still here married to you.

Go on then and I'll see you when you get home in a day or two.
I'll be here starting over, I lost count while I was thinking of you.
