Forever Together In Debris Poem by Tyton Toste

Forever Together In Debris

Two skulls on the ground,
No owner to be found,
Although, one belonged to a man,
and the other... to a woman.

They are yet alive,
Their bodies did rise.
Without their heads of course.
They seek them, but without pumpkin and horse.

What allowed them to live again?
Their love for one another, times ten.
It was so strong, even death could not resist.
So they are forever together if they insist.

But how did they die?
on accident, thats no lie.
Went of the road, they did.
Car and all, hood severing their lids.

Decapitation, a fine way to go.
But their heads were lost in the flow,
Of rubble, debris, mud, and crushed car.
Their souls bound for heaven or hell, but didn't go far.

They died with each others hand in grasp.
All was silent until one of the bodies gasped.
Standing up with blood trickling down his shirt,
It moved to the other corpse and brushed her skirt.

Just then, they both were awake.
Simple as that, no thunder nor quake.
Rejected from death and departure.
All because of the love they both capture.

Without finding his head, as if pinned.
The undead man spoke from the wind,
'You are forever mine, i love you.'
Grasped the headless womans hand, no a-due.

So after this magnificent sight,
In the pitch darkness of night,
The two remain there, searching.
Looking for the skulls, and lurking.

They would need eyes to find their head,
But they have none, so they give up instead.
Although, sitting on a wreck in each-others arms,
Dose them no more farther nor greater harm.

So these two skulls, laying in a disaster zone,
Stare at each other adoringly, only bone,
With two candles sitting by them for dim light.
No one knows where they came from in the night.
