Forever Ever Never Poem by Patricia Osamor

Forever Ever Never

Years I longed to finally be bound to you
Fearlessly and earnestly loved you
We've being closest friends like forever
You were my Adam and I your Eva
Then on the faithful day you popped the question
Happily and willingly I made YES a mention

Lies not from the strangers but within
Accusation and counter accusation win
Jealousy and selfish desire thrive
I hurt from words so untrue and elusive

Our relationship so meddled
My love and affection trampled
Behold our friendship not based on marriage
Our amity bounded and grown through the age

Loved but not loved in return
I remain still, reply on my behalf not in turn
Now I have left my home though blameless
But I ask that I eventually be vindictive less.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
