For You, Dad On Your 99th Birthday Poem by Marilyn Lott

For You, Dad On Your 99th Birthday

Oh Dad, I miss you so very much
If only we could sit for awhile
Chat about so many things
I could enjoy your amazing smile.

So many years have passed now
Since your life faded away
I know it wasn’t possible though
For you to be able to stay.

Sad things happened when you left
So many I don’t want to recall
Mom missed you so very much
But you are now together after all.

Then Rod joined you years later
A reunion you had I am sure
You loved us all so very much
With a heart so warm and pure.

Your brothers and sister joined you
Wow, what a reunion it would be
Of course I wasn’t there
For it simply wasn’t time for me.

Happy Birthday, Dad, my goodness
You would have lived 99 years, it’s true
Please never forget no matter what
How much dad, that I’ll always love you.
