For You Poem by Ryan McNicholas

For You

Of course I do
It again, just another
Mess up in the journal
Of my life, diving into
Life; s never ending
Black hole of trying
To find the “one.”

But the faster I fall
The farther the love
Is to reach, I close
My eyes and wave my
Arms, but wiff many
Times. The harder I try
The further you distance
Yourself.

Told to wait and
And wait I will,
Till the next sunrise
Or last sunset, I will
Be here, still free
Falling at will to
Hold you in my arms.

My history haunts me
Like the ghost of
Christmas Past,
I scratch at the
Walls to rewrite
It, but no one can
Stop the pen from
Writing.

I must be truthful
And truth be told
It’s hard,
Building my ego
As high as the
Sears Tower,
But I’m still
Left a broken Superman.

It’s you and
You alone who will
Let me be me, laugh
When no one else does,
Smile when I’m sad and,
Kiss me because you can.
