For Someone Poem by Dan Medina

For Someone

Those words may be as sweet as honey,
but to this girl-they strike no chord.
Such lovely phrases wrapped in bliss,
but which her heart cannot afford.

And in these words, so thought by many,
she finds no truth in what they speak.
She sees this void within herself,
though bound by beauty- such feelings bleak.

But to this girl, she is now blind,
in time due given, these truths she'll find.
To give a place within her mind,
to settle thoughts- to let truth bind.

So this dear girl, though lost in sight,
do lift her eyes, release this plight.
And find a hope in which she may,
wake up and utter 'This is my day.'
