For My Reflection Poem by Dijon Noble

For My Reflection

I praise god for the beauty you possess exchange words with me so I may thank god for your intellect, and cling to my company so that I may avoid a heavy burden between my back and chest.

I feel your absence it's like the lack of warmth for flesh, and who would go unclothed in the cold when they have the option of garments, so may your covering be my presence and your heart my compartment.

When I sense your presence I strain my neck, from darkened clouds the clear rains collect I realize in retrospect, and my feelings were as shallow ponds and clearly in my actions did they reflect.

With dignity I shed tears at present for the sake of tomorrow, uncertain about my loved ones, knowing you as my loved one not knowing if or when you may go.
