For Molly (A Dear Friend) Poem by James Harris

For Molly (A Dear Friend)

For you there should be vast green hills,
A place to feel the grass in your toes
Somewhere you can go to forget your ills,
Where water in a clear brook flows

For you are a most special kind of lass,
Full of love and everlasting charm
Yet you also have a special kind of sass,
In a way it seems kind of warm

That smile you have makes me forget my fear,
It speaks volumes of you as a friend
Never forget that you can always bend my ear,
Always here for you until the end.

The point is you are never without someone,
No matter how rough the road of life can be
Friends like you really are not so common,
So please remember you will always have me.
