For Matsuo Basho Poem by Sambanath Denis

For Matsuo Basho

Though you and I have never met,
Liker Winter and Summer
Shall never meet.
I hold you clear in my memory,
A fellow poet and a man.
I share with you the love of words
And the nature of their expressions.
Oriental poet kept now in libraries,
Your Haiku live on,
Immortalised.
