For Her Poem by Edward Grey

For Her

Rating: 5.0

Broken lives
Perfect dreams
In my heart
Still haunt me

All I did
Was try to be
The kind of guy
God would want me to be

Once I thought
That I wound never see
A girl who would see anything in me
But now I know
That’s not true
Cause God led me to you

Through a friend
Who knew YOU
He worked things out
Saw things through
And brought me to you
Now I see
My hopes and dream
Bundled up
Down inside of you

Things were great
Things were fine
Everything seemed sublime
But I had to come home again
And that is when my problems began

I got home
Things were fine
I started my job
Kept things in line
Until at work one day
A girl had to say
She had a crush

Please don’t be afraid,
You have nothing to worry about
I love you
Do not doubt
Nothing they do or say
Can change the way I feel

Here I stand
There again
A girl at church
Passed a note
Telling me
That she
Cared for me

What am I supposed to do
I am in love with you
And only you

She is nice enough
Just got saved
How can I
Just explain
It is not enough
It is not the same

I told her friend
She said she would cry
I would rather die
Than bring a tear to any girls eye
But time ticks by
It flies away
And now I have to tell her today

Soon I’ll be
By your side
Wear I wont
Have to hide
From all the girls
Who are starting to see
What you already saw in me

Have no fear
I love you dear

God led
Through a friend

I have to tell her
It must be today

I don’t want to hurt her
Or cause her pain
But I have to find a way
Cause I will never get over you

(For my girl)

A sweet poem, I think, your girl may not want to know all the ladies are hot for you, though. You didn't happen to take down the numbers of the rejects by any chance? (jk)
