(For Dónall) Telephone cuddling

Alone in the dark,
I cuddle the cold receiver
... receiving...

... enfolded
in the embrace of
your gentle voice...

my cheek resting on
the phantom
of your warm chest.

Your steady heartbeat
pulsing in memory,
rocking me
quietly
into dreams

What a beguiling title! This is truly beautiful - a lullaby of love, and all through the medium of 'the cold receiver' - superb! S :) (Report) Reply

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
