(for Dónall) Telephone Cuddling Poem by Janice Windle

(for Dónall) Telephone Cuddling

Rating: 2.8

Alone in the dark,
I cuddle the cold receiver
... receiving...

... enfolded
in the embrace of
your gentle voice...

my cheek resting on
the phantom
of your warm chest.

Your steady heartbeat
pulsing in memory,
rocking me
quietly
into dreams

What a beguiling title! This is truly beautiful - a lullaby of love, and all through the medium of 'the cold receiver' - superb! S :)
