Pre-flight fright
White knuckled fists gripping tight
Armrests and safety vests strapped to chests
Clasping seat belts, scared feelings felt
Turn off electronics put away handhelds
Soothing stewardess voices directions
Seats upright backs ignite quiet tensions
Sweating foreheads, swallow sleep meds
Drowsiness induced calm precedes tense rest
Never again will take to air
Fear and anguish drawing near
Thoughts of yesteryear
Life gone by how times fly
Ghosts on wings soaring high
Crowds of clouds just below
Weather holding, winds blow
Pitter patter rain splatter
Window wrecks glass shatter
Up in flames down in chains
Fears realized nothing remains
Angels save broken wings
If survived will give up token things
Plane takes off nothings changed
Dreamed the worst, now fears caged
Destinations reached lessons preached
Expensive drinks to feel released
Relentless thoughts enter these
From drug induced fantasies
Landing safely truly blessed
Promise empty now confessed
