Flesh, And Bleeding Red Poem by Shemsi Elsani

Flesh, And Bleeding Red

Don’t you pretend you don’t know
Don’t you act like a blind
Don’t you act like a deaf
Don’t even try to be a hero
And don’t ever think we don’t know

We have flesh, so do you

And we know

This flesh is bleeding
This flesh is warm
This flesh is beating
And you’re the reason

And we’re hurt, for long
You’re hurting us
Day by day
Would you not a pity
How shameful you are

We’ve trusted you
To be our saviour
We’ve put our faith in you
To be our hero
And you’ve betrayed us
In the meanest way

Don’t ever say sorry
Or even try to be
‘Cause you have kill us all
This flesh of us, it’s bleeding red
And wait ‘till your flesh cringe
