Flee Poem by Silent Noise

Flee

‘I loved you, Brian
But now it is over…'
I receive a text early in the morning,
‘You served me a better part, thank you'
It concluded.
I press the lock button
And the phone goes black

I was in the church,
That day when I spotted you
‘Damn it! It was a Sabbath'
Scanning through the multitude,
I wonder how my eyes met yours
In sure certainty

I winked my left eye mechanically
Alerting you though silent
‘We will meet after this'

But doubt invaded me,
I penned a note to you
Having the same message
You replied immediately,
‘Sure, charming one'

In an hour's time
We interacted at the backyard
Our relationship being created
Within that period of time…

‘Will you mind if I took your number? '
‘No, I won't'
We conversed

‘0710533…
My land is Kenya…'
You flashed my number
Thus I received your contacts
That's when my demise took off

Yes, we sent nudity through the phone
Imagined we had wed,
Built a bungalow,
Rode in an expensive car,
Married and sired two kids
Retired and died

Within that period,
We had performed
Anything a married couple would have done
We got laid too
I do regret till now

Yesterday, in the afternoon
I was taking a walk
Just near
Spices Hotel
I spotted you head-on
Enjoying a happy time
With ‘Mchina'
Enjoying pieces of ‘nyama choma'
Happy a couple
You were
I do also ask you
To simply,
Flee away from me!
