Flavus Flatus

A packet of saffron powder
was found
on a table in Pompeii.
It had the label 'Flavus Flatus' on it.

'Flavus flatus', meaning 'Yellow blowing',
was what the Romans called a dust storm.
One of them coming,
they yelled 'flavus flatus venit! '
